Monaghan's Erin Rose

Monaghan's is only a half block from Bourbon Street but a world away. It's like the kind of neighborhood bar you find in America's older cities. Or like a Dublin Pub. I shot this during the quiet of mid-afternoon.

I wonder if "Monaghan" had these words in mind when he named his place:

"Come near; I would before my time to go,
Sing of old Eire and the ancient ways
Red Rose, proud Rose, sad Rose of all my days."

W.B. Yeats

Years ago I stood by his grave in Sligo.
